LG is set to Sponsor an MWC 2019 event on February 24, and It’s expected to launch both the LG G8 ThinQ and the LG V50 ThinQ smartphones in the event.
New reports today suggest that LG will not be launching a foldable device in the event due to uncertain market scenario for the section. It will instead, allegedly launch an attachable display screen to your LG V50 ThinQ which can convert it into a tablet, if consumers want it to. A separate render leak of the LG V50 ThinQ has also been leaked revealing design details. Furthermore, in a report, an LG executive has confirmed that the LG V50 ThinQ will support 5G, while the LG G8 ThinQ will stay loyal to the LTE band.
A new report out of South Korea asserts that LG won’t be launch a foldable phone at its MWC 2019 event on February 24. LG Electronics cellphone and TV head Brian Kwon says the tech to create a phone is prepared, but the provider is uncertain of customer reaction and would love to watch it out prior to launching a device like that in the industry.
This is an advanced technology one step forward of computing technologies. We have reviewed releasing the foldable smartphone when launch 5G smartphone but chose not to produce it. The market requirement for smartphones will probably be at around 1 million but LG’s main issue in smartphone company is to recover its market position. Considering this circumstance, it is too premature for LG to launch a watertight smartphone. Concerning technology, we’re totally ready to react based on consumers’ reactions (to foldable smartphones),” Kwon said to the book.
Separately, ZDNet reports that LG will try to fill the foldable phone emptiness by launching a new flip-cover attachable display for the V50 ThinQ smartphone. This flip-cover will help LG V50 ThinQ buyers to efficiently produce a”dual display” phone. Kwon made all these confirmations at a media conference held in the LG Science Park in Seoul last week.
Evan Blass has also leaked a leave (pictured above) of this LG V50 ThinQ and it’s seen to sport a wide screen top notch, a double camera camera setup in the back, and a back fingerprint detector. The telephone is tipped to be the Sprint 5G carrier-locked version, and has a background with 5G written on it in bold. There’s also 5G written on the rear panel reiterating the telephone will support 5G.
LG V50 cost, specifications, availability (rumoured)
The LG V50 ThinQ 5G is tipped to package a 6-inch display, be powered with the Snapdragon 855 chip, and package a 4,000mAh battery. It may also feature a vapour room cooling system for more efficient heat management. In terms of the LG V50 ThinQ 5G’s market availability, it will reportedly be established in North America and Europe in March. Moreover, it is going to be accessible from four carriers viz. As for the pricing, LG’s forthcoming 5G smartphone will reportedly be priced between KRW 1.3 million (approximately Rs. 83,000) and KRW 1.5 million (approximately Rs. 98,800).

Renders of those LG G8 ThinQ have leaked on several events, and the phone is mostly expected to sport a double rear camera set up, a fingerprint scanner in the rear, glossy back panel finishes in various colors, and wide top up front. The LG G8 ThinQ will package Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) technologies that utilises the cellphone’s OLED display as an audio amplifier. The specifications include ToF (Time-of-Flight) technology-backed front camera for much more precise 3D facial recognition and better thickness estimation for bokeh impacts, a 3,400mAh battery, and a 6.1-inch display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is thought to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The LG G8 ThinQ will supposedly be priced at CAD 1,199.99 (approximately Rs. 64,300) for its 128GB variant.
