Facebook messaging merchandise VP defends Messenger Kids; says it assists parents and kids interact more readily
In response to the backlash that Facebook’s Messenger Kids has received, David Marcus, the vice president of messaging products has recently defended the program intended for kids.

Referring to his own adventures, he added that it might allow parents and their children interact more readily. He denied that Messenger Children is a social media platform like others on the internet. This messaging program takes in children between 6 to 12 decades old.

Recently, Messenger Kids received backlash from child growth advocates. They said that the social networking giant is currently using the product for its very good. They also added that introducing youngsters to social media, at such a young age, could be detrimental to their psychological well being.

Messenger for Kids, apparently, works under the supervision of the parents. It assists in circumstances when parents aren’t present with their children. It doesn’t populate the app with advertisements. The parents have an option to choose to whom their children can speak to, with the app.

Among the arguments that the child development experts say is it simplifies Children Privacy Protection Rule from the US where kids under the age of 13 years should be monitored on the kind of content that a child is subjected to. Any online substance for kids below 13 decades old requires parental consent.

Social networking giants such as Facebook, Google allow children beyond the age of 13 decades old to be a part.

However, Marcus denied placing Messenger for Kids at the same group as social media.
