In a Fresh development, Netflix has announced its TV app is getting a much needed redesign.
The newest changes are aimed to make navigation and discovery of material easier and the total look much cleaner. The company notes that the interface is based on”rigorous research and testing around how we can make it easier to locate names on TVs, where navigation can feel somewhat tougher when you are restricted to just a couple buttons on a remote control”.
Netflix has begun rolling out the update for many members globally, but this rollout may be in waves. Expect to wait a bit before you can see the brand new side navigation panel for easier content detection. This navigation panel has been first placed over the primary carousel hidden from plain sight, but it has been shifted to the left side of the screen. Also, it didn’t have distinct sections for movies and series, like this brand new one.
In any situation, Netflix notes the new layout makes it much easier to search manually, and see new content. There is also a Search option which lets you manually search, and series and movies sections letS you restrict your search according to your preference at that time. The My List option takes you straight to your curated listing, and the New segment lets you see all the content which has lately been added to the stage. At the top of the navigation panel, is also your account information, and in addition it has the ability to allow you to switch profiles readily.
“First, it’s now easier to search and view new content added to this ceremony. It’s also far easier to start surfing with either a series or movie; our studies have shown us that although a member generally isn’t sure what exact title they wish to see, they have a pretty good sense of if they’re in the mood to get a quick series episode or a longer movie experience. We’ve also made it a lot easier to access titles you’ve stored for later viewing in My List. In our testing of the new interface, we saw that that this simpler design helped members find something good to see,” the company explains on its own site .
Netflix also hints that more new features are coming in the upcoming few weeks for most of its members, but refrains from detailing them. Also, the business has given little clarity on rollout timeline or apparatus priority. Are you viewing the brand new Netflix design in your TV? Tell us in the comments below.
