WhatsApp has Allegedly Started testing the group invitation control feature in Android, a feature that will allow users to decide who Will add them into a group.
Thanks to this nifty feature, users can avoid being added into a WhatsApp group without their consent and offers them with three degrees of control over becoming members of a WhatsApp group. The feature is currently disabled by default, but was nonetheless spotted in code by beta watcher WABetaInfo. It could expected to be added soon once the glitches and bugs are ironed out.
The group invitation management feature spotted from the WhatsApp beta upgrade (variant 2.19.55) is basically the same attribute that was released via a beta upgrade for iOS TestFlight users. As stated above, the attribute is currently under the first phase of development and is not widely accessible to members of the WhatsApp beta program for Android. The attribute’s coming on the Android platform via the beta channel was spotted by WABetaInfo.
The group invitation attribute wasn’t observable in the WhatsApp beta for Android at the time of writing, as checked in two separate builds –version 2.19.55 and version 2.19.56. There’s no word when this feature will be made available to beta testers, neither is there any advice when it will be rolled out via the secure channel.

The”Groups” sub-section permits users to choose between three invitation control settings — Everyone, My Contacts, and Nobody. The Everyone choice will allow any WhatsApp user to add you to a group with no necessity to send an invite and wait for approval.
The My Contacts alternative will only allow users in somebody’s contact list to add users into some WhatsApp group without needing to send an invitation, while the rest will probably be asked to send an invitation that users can choose to accept or decline. The Nobody setting will prevent everyone from adding users to a group. After this option is enabled, users will receive an invitation if an admin wishes to add them to a WhatsApp group.
